Colombia is the number one country for exportation of coffee, gold, emeralds and bananas. It is also the only country in the world that has control of exportation due to the Panama Canal giving them access to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
According to RCN Caracol, Colombia was named as the Innovative Country of the Year in 2013, and in 2015 was named the Happiest Nation in the World.
Having the privilege to visit this beautiful country – which has six different regions, a variation of cultures and diverse foods – is paradise. Waking up in the morning and hearing music being played, along with smelling the strong scent of coffee, introduces you to a whole new world. Viewing the mountains and breathing in the fresh air will leave you speechless.
Be sure to enjoy the local cuisine of Colombia during your visit. Your taste buds will embark on a titillating experience once you try the incredible cultural dishes. The foods are filled with a plethora of exciting flavors from spicy to sweet and much more.
Colombia is also home to one of the most famous carnivals in the world. “El Carnaval de Barranquilla”, or “The Carnival of Barranquilla”, is the second most famous carnival after the one in Brazil. This carnival is full of colorful costumes, songs and dances.
